How does HSA/FSA save me money?
HSA/FSA accounts were created so people could use pre-tax money to pay for expenses that treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed medical condition. For hot sleepers, that often includes night sweats, hot flashes, menopause-related sleep disruption, and other conditions that disrupt sleep quality.
Because HSA/FSAs use pre-tax money, you're getting more purchasing power for every dollar. Instead of paying taxes on your income and then buying a cooling solution, qualified customers can put pre-tax funds directly toward better sleep.
Common Questions
Is Flux Sleep HSA/FSA eligible?
Yes! Qualified customers can pay for the Flux Sleep using HSA or FSA funds through our partner, Truemed. you may be eligible to pay for your Flux Sleep purchase with your HSA/FSA.
At checkout, select Truemed as your payment option, complete a quick private health survey, and a licensed clinician will review your information to determine eligibility. If you qualify, you can pay directly with your HSA/FSA card. Eligibility depends on your individual health circumstances, so not everyone will qualify, but the process only takes a few minutes.
How does using my HSA/FSA account save me money?
HSA and FSA accounts hold pre-tax dollars, meaning that money was never taxed in the first place. When you pay for your Flux Sleep with those funds, you're effectively saving your income tax rate on the purchase. Qualified customers save an average of 30%.
To be clear, this isn't a discount on the Flux Sleep price. You still pay the price reflected on the website. The savings come from using money that was never taxed.
What are FSA and HSA accounts?
HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are accounts that let you set aside pre-tax money from your paycheck to pay for qualified medical expenses. Most Americans with employer health benefits or a high-deductible health plan have access to one or both.
The money goes in before income tax is taken out, which is why using these funds save you money compared to paying with a regular bank account.
Can I use my regular credit card at checkout?
Yes. If you'd rather pay with a regular credit or debit card, you can still get reimbursed afterward.
Just select "Truemed - Pay with HSA/FSA" at checkout, complete the health survey at checkout, and if you qualify, you'll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and receipt.
Submit those documents to your HSA/FSA administrator, and they'll reimburse you using your pre-tax funds.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and how does it work?
A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a document issued by an independent, licensed clinician confirming that a purchase is medically necessary for a diagnosed health condition. The IRS requires this documentation when you use HSA/FSA funds on health and wellness products like the Flux Sleep.
Truemed's clinician network handles the entire process. You complete a private health survey, a licensed provider reviews your answers, and if you qualify, the LMN is issued automatically. Each LMN is valid for 12 months from the date it's issued.
You don't need to gather any of this paperwork yourself. Truemed takes care of all of it.
Are there fees associated with using Truemed's services?
No. Truemed doesn't charge you any extra fees to qualify or pay with your HSA/FSA. You pay the same price for the Flux Sleep that you would otherwise. The savings come entirely from using pre-tax dollars.
When should I use my FSA/HSA dollars?
HSA dollars roll over year after year and never expire, so there's no urgency, but using them on the Flux Sleep means more of your pre-tax money goes toward better sleep instead of medical expenses you can't predict.
FSA dollars are different. They typically expire at the end of your plan year (often December 31), with very limited rollover allowed by some employers. If you have FSA funds that are about to expire, using them on the Flux Sleep is a great way to put that money to work before you lose it.
How long does it take to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?
Most customers finish the health survey in a few minutes, and the clinical review happens immediately. If you qualify, your LMN is generated on the spot and sent to your email along with your receipt. There's no waiting period or back-and-forth required.
I don't have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Truemed?
Truemed is built specifically for customers who have HSA or FSA accounts, so the tax savings only apply if you have access to one of those accounts.
It's also worth checking with your HR department, as a lot of people have an HSA or FSA available through their employer and don't realize it.
I don't live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed with Truemed?
Unfortunately, no. HSA and FSA accounts are part of the US tax code, so Truemed is only available to customers in the United States.
