Rest easy - we’ve gathered everything you need to know about the Flux Sleep, all in one place.

Product Specifications

How cold does the Flux Sleep get?

The Flux Sleep features two cooling modes designed to help you find your perfect sleep temperature:

  • Eco Mode: Ideal for all-night comfort, this mode lowers your bed temperature by -5°F.
  • Max Mode: Povides a deeper chill, dropping the temperature by -10°F.
How is the Flux Sleep cooled?

The Flux Sleep uses active semiconductor refrigeration to chill water and circulate it through a network of micro-tubes inside the mattress pad.

How loud is the Flux Sleep?

The Flux Sleep is extremely quiet - just 33 decibels when operating.

To give you an idea, 33 dB is roughly the sound of a soft whisper or a quiet library. It is significantly quieter than a standard bedside fan or a window AC unit. In a typical room, you’ll likely forget it’s even running.

How much power does the Flux Sleep use?

Barely any! In Eco mode, the Flux Sleep draws about 10 watts - less than a standard LED light bulb. In Max mode, it uses about 70 watts.

To put that in perspective: a window AC unit pulls 500-1,500 watts, a portable space heater draws 1,000-1,500 watts, and other high-end cooling mattress systems use 100-150 watts. The Flux Sleep on Max is less than half of what those other cooling systems use, and in Eco mode it's practically nothing.

At typical US electricity rates, you're looking at a few cents per night to run it. So you can keep it running all night without worrying about your power bill!

Can I control each side of the bed independently?

Yes! Our Queen and King systems are designed for total "Dual-Zone" customization. Instead of one unit trying to please two people, we provide two dedicated cooling systems - one for each side of the bed.

Can the cooling unit be placed on the ground?

Yes, the machine can be placed on the floor - that works totally fine!

Our promotional photos show it on the bedside table to display the details more prominently.

Does the Flux Sleep require a subscription?

No. When you buy the Flux Sleep, you own it. We don’t believe in charging you a "monthly rent" to sleep in your own bed. There are no hidden fees, no locked features, and no memberships required. Every cooling benefit is available to you from day one, forever.

Does the Flux Sleep need an app?

No app required! We designed the Flux Sleep to be "digital-detox" friendly. You can switch between Eco and Max modes directly on the unit with a simple button press. There’s no need to fumble with your phone, check for firmware updates, or deal with spotty Wi-Fi in the middle of the night.

Does the Flux Sleep require a new mattress?

No, you can keep the mattress you already love. The Flux Sleep is designed to be a universal "add-on" system. It features a thin, comfortable cooling pad that slides right on top of your current mattress. Simply place the pad under your fitted sheet, connect it to the control unit, and you’ve instantly upgraded your existing bed!

Does the pad go under the sheets, or am I laying directly on the pad?

The pad goes between your mattress and your fitted sheet, so you are not sleeping directly on it.

There are photos on our website where it's shown on top of the bed - that's just so you can actually see the pad for demonstration purposes. In real use, it's always tucked under the sheets.

Does the Flux Sleep change how my mattress feels?

Not really! Of course, no cooling mattress pad will be entirely imperceptible, but we've engineered ours to be as subtle as possible.

Your mattress will still feel like your mattress.

Can the Flux Sleep be used with an adjustable bed?

Yes, the Flux Sleep works great with adjustable beds!

The silicone tubing is incredibly durable, so even if it gets bent a little during adjustments, it won't break. Just try to be conscious of not pinching the tubes when you're raising or lowering the bed, so water can still flow through them.

The connecting hose is 40 inches long, so just measure the distance from your floor/nightstand to the mattress to make sure it reaches comfortably.

Is there a weight limit for the Flux Sleep?

No, there is no weight limit. Our cooling pad is engineered with durable, medical-grade silicone tubing that is designed to withstand the pressure of any body type without kinking or restricting water flow. Whether you sleep alone or share the bed with a partner (and the dog!), the Flux Sleep will continue to circulate water.

Can I travel with the Flux Sleep?

While not specifically designed as a travel product, plenty of people do take it on the go without any issues.

The cooling unit is quite compact: just 9.65 x 7.48 x 4.53 inches and roughly 4 lbs. The pad folds up as well.

If you're packing other items like clothes, we would definitely recommend using a checked bag to fit everything. The Flux Sleep could definitely fit in a carry-on, but there wouldn't be a lot of room left for other items.

Cleaning & Care

What cleaning & maintenance is needed?

Very little! Just wipe down the control unit with a damp cloth occasionally and refresh the water in the tank every now and then. The mattress pad can be spot cleaned as needed. That's it - no complicated upkeep required.

If you ever notice any odor from the water system, just add a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to clean it out.

How often do I need to refill the water?

Not very often. Because the Flux Sleep operates as a semi-closed loop, evaporation is kept to an absolute minimum. In a standard bedroom environment, you will typically only need to "top off" the reservoir once every 4 to 8 weeks.

What kind of water should be used?

Tap water works perfectly fine!

If you want to go the extra mile, distilled water is recommended for longevity of the machine, but is definitely not required.

Can I wash the mattress pad?

The pad can be handwashed and spot-cleaned, but please don't put it in the washing machine.

Machine washing can risk creating leaks in the tubing. A gentle handwash is the way to go!

Setup & Troubleshooting

How do I setup the Flux Sleep?

The setup for the Flux Sleep is extremely quick and simple!

1. Unroll the mattress pad and place between your mattress and fitted sheet. The white connective piece should be facing the edge of the bed, near the location where the cooling unit will be placed.

2. Plug the connecting tubes into the the mattress pad and the cooling unit. If you have any issues with leaks, gently pull the tubes apart on each end before they are connected.

3. Unscrew the cap, and turn on the machine while slowly pouring water in. While not required, to maintain optimal longevity of your system, use distilled water.

4. Once water has completely flowed through the system, screw on the cap. The cooling unit can be placed on the ground or on your night stand, but we recommend the night stand for best results.

5. Set desired settings:
Hours: Adjusts the number of hours the system will run for. The number of hours left is shown on the screen, and will count down throughout the night.
Mode (Max/Eco): Adjusts the temperature of the cooling. Eco is great for cooler rooms or if you’re looking for just a minor temperature adjustment. Max is great for hot nights and sweaty sleepers. You can switch this throughout the night.

How can I maximize the cooling?

A few simple tweaks can make a big difference!

1. Make sure the vents on the sides of the cooling unit aren't blocked on any side.

2. Try placing the cooling unit on your nightstand instead of the floor. When it's at roughly the same height as the pad, water circulates faster and keeps the mattress pad cooler.

3. Use just one sheet between you and the mattress pad to get the full effect.

How do I make sure my unit is set up correctly to avoid leaks?

In the rare occasion there is a leak in the mattress pad, there's almost always one cause: Simply make sure the connector tubes are separated!

This leak occurs when the two connector tubes are still stuck together at the end before being plugged into the mattress pad.

Just unplug the tubes from the mattress pad, gently pull them apart at the ends, and then reconnect them to the mattress pad.

See the photo here for what they should look like when properly separated.
